*Hiccup*

After doing a some major clean sweeps in our two spare rooms this past week, the last of the scrapping supplies were brought from my old scrap space into my scrap room. What a mess! It is piled high on my scrap desk and looks to be one of those daunting tasks that is bound to get worse before it gets better. My solution - a very quick layout to try and motivate myself. Lets hope it works!
The above layout was based on a challenge I had wanted to do during Scrapping Buddies Holiday crop. It covers both the scraplift challenge as well as the white space challenge. Below is Rachel's layout that I scraplifted.
The photo is of Katie's dog, Frodo. In December, we dog-sat him while Ryan & Katie were out of town. I wanted them to know that he was in great hands so I took this photo to ease their minds. They haven't asked us to dog-sit since ... maybe it wasn't that reassuring afterall?? ;-)

House Art

If you have ever been to my home, you know that I live in a high ranch bungalow. When you walk in you can go right downstairs or right up stairs. You also know that we have a tall wall that goes straight up to the ceiling when you walk in. I would say about 15 or so feet high. To break up the boldness and brightness of my wall colour, I have created a metal collage with various items - mostly of the garden variety!

While the fireplace is nothing to sneeze at for most people, for us it is a big deal. We made it from scratch! Everthing you see (except the top mantle piece) was nothing but flat oak. We had the wood carved and routed then spiced up with some decals. I love it! I also made the bowl that is hung above the Angel wings on a Momma-daughter outing to The Mud Oven. It reads "hearts warm when family and friends gather" It was never intended to be wall art but a chip in the bowl made it such.

During March break I will embark on a new home 'art' project and can't wait! Even if it isnt scrapping, I am very happy with these creations.

Better Something than Nothing

I did this layout sometime early 2006 with a For Keepsakes monthly kit. I even had the winning layout - yay! Things have been pretty busy as of late but I will hopefully get to having some fun in the SB room during March Break - - or so I hope. Tanya - - how about a midafternoon playdate? Methinks you need one, my friend! Anyone else care to join us?? :-)
